WEST MIDLANDS NETWORKING COMPANY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT. (Covering West Midlands and South West Regions).Updated: 12th August 2005Recently AWM and SWRDA have launched a project under the direction of WMNC (West Midlands Networking Company) which is aiming to achieve broadband coverage for a large number of areas that are currently not serviced in the West Midlands and South West areas – we will be working closely with WMNC to ensure that we do not cut across their activity, but instead concentrate Rabbit activity on those areas that remain out of reach even after this project is completed. The areas covered in the South west Include (currently)... Wylye, Oxenwood, North Tamerton, Brendon, Lydford, Farway, Manaton, Chillaton, Clayhanger, Filliegh, Rackenford, Widecombe in the Moor, Drewsteignton, postbridge, Leighterton, Rodmarton, Lydeard St Lawrence, Crowcombe and Brompton Regis. And in the Isles of Scilly, St Agnes, Tresco, St Martins and Bryher. And in the West Midlands (currently)... Alstonfield, Blackshaw, Burwarton, Leebotwood, Longtown Castle, Michaelschurch, Middleton Scriven, Morville, Norton (Shropshire), Onecote, Pencombe, Rudyard, Uppington, Wetwood, Yockleton, Hamstall Ridwarw, Hollington, How Caple, Ivington, Kinlet, Lee Brockhurst, Calverhall, Cotheridge, Fradley and Thorpe Cloud. Regrettably this may of course entail some delays for applications for funding in areas covered by the WMNC project - indeed in September there may be a temporary hold on responding to applications while we consider the impact of the Tenders received for the project (due September 5th) The OJEU notice has been issued, State Aid approval applied for, Suppliers interested have registered and the ITT has been sent out to a short list of suppliers - the due date for response is 5th September.
